Ford has entered the smart city conversation wanting to become a key player in the industry. Their European team was gathered for a brainstorming and information gathering session to explore new ways that Ford could be of influence in city infrastructure.
When thinking about city infrastructure we don't often look at it in terms of its social, cultural, and biological consequences. However, through our research we are understanding that city infrastructure is more than supporting commercial activity, it has tangible human consequences.
The first part of the process was to understand how transport infrastructure impacts the human experience in cities, such as health, inequality, and safety. Secondly, we looked at the intersection between smart city technology and transportation. Finally, we put forward insights specifically for Ford to use when future proofing their smart city and transport products.
