Walking Towards a People's Health Lab
Last year, we published a thought piece titled “No Time for Leaders”. In this piece we identified and articulated the loss we are facing and will continue to face. The core of the piece focused on developing distributed and redundant healing systems to withstand the loss, rather than concentrated leadership to support the existing and future generations of the “health commons”.
Throughout our ten years as a lab, we have observed both how people get sick and how they heal. We have identified social medicine as a key part of the infrastructure of healing. From this point, we will be specialising in providing the necessary infrastructure and support for communities to enact social medicine.
However, we will not be the direct enactors of this infrastructure. As a principle we believe that communities should maintain autonomy over their healing and health justice journey.
